Worst Handbook Ever Contest Official Rules 

 

Eligibility: Open to legal U.S. residents 18+ who are authorized representatives of a business organization. Void where prohibited. One entry per company. 

 

Entry Period: Begins Thursday, June 4th and ends Thursday, June 25th.

 

How to Enter: Submit the entry form on the landing page with required fields completed. Incomplete or fraudulent entries are void. 

 

Winner Selection: One winner determined by having the oldest verifiable “last updated” date on their employee handbook. PCG may require proof (e.g., handbook, cover page or revision log, etc.). Ties resolved by earliest original creation date; if still tied, random drawing among tied entries. PCG decisions are final. 

 

Prize: One Employee Handbook (Approximate Retail Value: $3,500), which includes: 

 

• Collaboration with your leadership and key stakeholders to understand your culture, values, and operational needs 

• A review of existing policies and topics to identify gaps or out‑of‑date information 

• Drafting clear policies aligned with applicable federal, state, and industry‑specific regulations 

• A formatted final handbook delivered in Microsoft Word and PDF 

 

Prize must be initiated within 6 months of notification or may be forfeited. No substitution or cash equivalent, except PCG may substitute a prize of equal/greater value if necessary. Winner responsible for any taxes. 

 

Notification/Verification: Potential winner will be notified via email within 1 day after Entry Period ends and must respond within 72 hours. PCG may require eligibility and handbook-date verification and/or a mutually acceptable NDA. Nonresponse or failure to verify may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate. 

 

Publicity/Confidentiality: With winner’s consent, PCG may announce the winning company’s name and handbook age. PCG will not disclose handbook contents without permission and will use any submitted excerpts solely for verification unless otherwise agreed in writing. 

 

General Conditions: PCG reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if fraud or technical issues impair integrity, or for any reason. By participating, entrants release and hold harmless PCG from any claims arising out of participation or prize receipt/use, except to the extent caused by PCG’s gross negligence or willful misconduct. 

 

Privacy: Information collected is subject to PCG’s Privacy Policy.

FAQ 

• Do I have to upload my handbook? Not with your entry. If you’re a finalist, we’ll ask for a cover or page showing the “last updated” date. You can redact sensitive info, and we can sign an NDA if needed. 

• What if our handbook was updated recently? You can still enter, but the oldest handbook wins. We may feature honorable mentions. 

• How long does the makeover take? Typically, 8-10 weeks from project kickoff to final delivery.
